The mansion is currently owned by the University of Denver and is used as a conference center and museum. Belcaro, which means “beautiful dear one” in Italian, was named by Phipps. South of Belcaro is the neighborhood of Bonnie Brae, which features neighborhoods with curved, tree-lined streets and an intimately Scottish village feel.

Cory-Merrill is an idyllic and upscale neighborhood with large lots and wide streets. Belcaro and Cory-Merrill are adjacent to Washington Park, with a lake, basketball court, recreation center, athletic fields, tennis courts, playgrounds and plenty of open space. Cherry Creek Shopping Center and Bonnie Brae Village are just north of Belcaro and Cory-Merrill, offering excellent shopping and dining.
